Arson Attack Destroys Pipers Vale Minibus —Calls for Support to Replace Vital Community Transport Link
Pipers Vale Gymnastics Club is devastated to report that its much loved community minibus was destroyed in an arson attack last week. The vehicle, which played a crucial role in transporting young gymnasts and community groups, was completely burnt out and is now beyond repair.
The minibus was not only used to take Pipers Vale gymnasts to camps, competitions, and squad training sessions across the country, it was also regularly loaned to local schools and nurseries, providing vital transport for sporting events and gymnastics experiences. It had become a cherished asset, serving hundreds of children and families across the local area, and was a massive part of our community outreach project.
While the vehicle was insured, the payout unfortunately does not cover the full cost of a like for like replacement. As a result, the club now faces a significant shortfall in funds and is launching a public appeal for donations to help replace this essential community resource.
"This minibus was far more than just transport — it was a lifeline that connected children with sport, opportunity, and community," said Emma Woollard, Chairperson. "The arson has hurt us deeply, but with the support of our community we are determined to come back stronger”.
If you feel you are able to help, as a supporter, a local business or part of our local community then Pipers Vale would love to hear from you. Every contribution, big or small, will help restore this vital service and ensure young people can continue to access the sporting opportunities they love.
