The Arrernte Community Boxing Academy was founded 20 years ago with the goal of establishing grassroots sports that helps young kids and adults with using discipline and focus through boxing to provide an option and a pathway to something greater.
Each member of ACBA becomes a better person with a strong support network, so those struggles at school or at home are able to be dealt with in a healthy positive way.
The academy not only supports young people but all members of the Central Australia community. Every person who joins ACBA becomes part of the extended family where age, gender, background, skills and experience do not define them.
The founders (a young Aboriginal couple) worked tirelessly with their own little family in tow to build this amazing academy over the years. They work long hours and volunteer their time on top of their busy daily schedules to make sure the academy keeps its doors open. They have supported over the years many young men and women to build their confidence and outlook on life to help improve their mental health and well-being.
This amazing academy could do with some extra support to help ensure the academy remains open for all.
Roxanne Highfold and Sarah Landers have made a pledge to run the 25km trail of the West Macs Monster in May 25th 2023 to raise funds for this academy. Please join Roxanne and Sarah in raising funds for this amazing academy!!
