Reunite a family in need

I'm writing to ask you to help me reunite my family. We are asylum seekers and refugees on opposite sides of the planet. Being reunited will hasten our healing as we begin our new lives.

I escaped from Kabul two days before the Taliban returned there in 2021, going overland through Iran to Turkiye. From there I went to Brazil, and again overland, I travelled to the U.S. and then Canada where I’m now safe in Arnprior, Ontario.

But my mother and little sister were left behind in Kabul, They couldn’t get out immediately, because my little sister’s passport had expired. And then it was too late.

After many tries, some formal and others not so formal, both my mother and my little sister are now safely out of Afghanistan. My mother is in Turkiye, and my sister has safely made it to the US.

My father and his second wife and kids are also in Turkiye, and sadly, all of them are being treated very poorly there – including that they are not allowed to work. Worst of all, they are at risk of being deported back to Afghanistan. Yes, though it’s hard to believe, both Pakistan and Turkiye are actually deporting Afghani refugees BACK into the hands of the Taliban.

An organization called Arnprior Cares, with a track-record of helping several other asylum-seeking families, is helping me with all the paperwork and sponsorship requirements to bring my family to Canada where they will be safe and begin their new lives.

But Arnprior Cares NEEDS TO RAISE $30,000 TO SHOW THE CANADIAN GOVERNMENT that my family has a financial base from which to begin their lives.
