Evora Hospice is calling on adventurous individuals to seize a unique opportunity to sign up for its 2026 charity skydive, a once in a lifetime experience... and this year one of Armagh I's own is boldly taking on the challenge.
Each year Armagh I choose Evora Hospice as their main charity partner for our People of the Year Awards, raising thousands for the charity annually, thanks to local generosity.
Last year - with our awards going entirely digital - we lost the ability to raise what we normally would and, so, to replace that loss Kellie has bravely volunteered herself to jump off the side of light aircraft... all for the benefit of Evora.
And while it will mean the world to be able to handover much needed funds to this incredible charity, there are also some personal motivations.
Said Kellie: "A skydive is something I have always wanted to do, it's definitely on my bucket list! So when Evora sent their yearly skydive press release through it got us thinking.
"Throughout the year we write countless stories from those who have had first-hand experience with hospice care. Each and every time those involved have only glowing reports. Families tell us how the hospice go above and beyond for them and their loved ones and always struggle to find words to express their sincerest thanks.
"While I'm grateful to not yet have had any personal experience with hospice care, none of us ever know when we might need to. Every penny makes a difference and I would be so grateful for all donations received towards this incredibly worthy cause."
The skydive is scheduled to take place in Garvagh, near Coleraine, on Saturday, May 30, 2026.
