Arjun Patel's Eagle Scout Project
Donation protected
Hello All,
I am Arjun Patel, a Life Scout from Troop 81 in Wexford, PA. I have been involved in Boy Scouting since I was in second grade, and I am trying to attain the final and highest rank in scouting, the Eagle Scout. In scouting this honor is achieved by about 6% of all scouts. I have been on 15 camping trips, volunteered through the local men's shelters frequently, mentored younger scouts to help them progress through their ranks & advancements, attended 4 summer camps, multiple leadership positions in my scout troop, and achieved over 20 merit badges. To reach the rank of Eagle, a scout must perform and demonstrate leadership through a service project for the local community.
For the past year, I have been volunteering at UPMC Passavant Hospital. Through this time, I have noticed that the 3rd-floor terrace patio for patients seems drab and run down. The current furniture has deteriorated over the years, and the plant potters remained unplanted. For my project, I plan to plant 105 flowers on the patio and build new furniture (tables and benches) for the patio. This will give patients, visitors, and hospital staff the opportunity to sit outside during the summer months in hopes of providing a warm and bright healing space.
The hospital has generously donated the plants, and I have planted them. But, I need your help to raise funds for new high-quality furniture. To complete this project, I will have to raise $1700 for the furniture, supplies, and tools necessary to build, transport, and install the furniture.
I would appreciate any contribution you can make. Your donation will help cover the cost of materials for this important project. Excess funds will be donated to the Boy Scout foundation.
Thank you,
Arjun K Patel,
Life Scout, Troop 81
