Welcome to the fundraiser for Ariel Music School London, a new music education initiative for trans+ youth. I'm alex (they/them). I'm a professional classical singer and teacher, and over the last five years I've been working to make singing spaces trans-inclusive, through my own teaching practice in East London, and through professional advocacy and funded research (Sound Connections 2020).

With Ariel Music School London, I am now taking this mission in a bold new direction: to build a friendly, safe and empowering musical space for young people in the trans+ community, with a focus on the voice.

Singing has the power to bring people together, regulate the nervous system and foster deep connection to the body and the self. Trans+ youth especially stand to gain so much from singing and from music-making in general. But all too often, I've seen that they are among the least able to access this activity and the profound health and social benefits it can offer.

With your donation, we can change that. The funds we raise will enable us to:

- Keep lessons affordable, and where possible provide a limited number of bursaries

- Pay staff fairly

- Hire dedicated teaching and performing spaces

- Manage administrative costs

- Drive additional fundraising to help secure the future of Ariel Music School London
