ARIA’S FUTURE- In loving memory of Laura

It’s with the heaviest of hearts that we share the passing of our beautiful friend, Laura, an extraordinary mum, an inspiring woman, and a soul with a heart bigger than the world.

Laura was selfless beyond measure. She gave everything she had to the people around her, always caring, always loving, always putting others first often at the cost of her own wellbeing. For over 16 years, she battled with anorexia and complex mental health challenges. Despite that, she poured her energy into being the most devoted mother, friend, and creator you could ever meet.

She was the proud mum of 9-year-old Aria…her whole world. Every early morning, every sleepless night, every thoughtful gesture was for her daughter. She worked from 3:30am some days making the most amazing creations be it cakes of buiscuts, yet still managed to be the soccer mum, the lunch-packer, the hug-giver, the everything. Laura and Aria had just begun a new tradition of creating beautiful memories together—trips to Geelong at Christmas, and more recently to Echuca. Their time together was filled with love, joy, and so much laughter.

Laura was also a phenomenally talented cake decorator and baker. Her business, As Sweet As Sugar, brought joy to countless families and friends near and far. Her artistry, kindness, and encouragement lit up the online cooking community she cheered everyone on, always leaving kind words and heartfelt praise for others and created life long friendships from near and afar!

Now, in the wake of this unimaginable loss, we want to honour Laura’s legacy by supporting her daughter, Aria. We are setting up this fund to support Aria’s future ensuring she has what she needs not just now, but in the months and years ahead. This includes things like education, clothing, counselling, activities, and the day-to-day essentials that a growing girl needs as she navigates life without her mum by her side.
