Archie and his community
Donation protected
Hi my name is Cory, and this is a surprise fundraiser for a man called Archie. Archie is a local who works at the Kariega game reserve and was our guide for the duration of our stay.
After talking to him and learning his story I want to be able to give him the chance to improve the lives of his children and hopefully the people in his community with the financial aid they so desperately deserve.
The low pay and high cost of living in South Africa makes life hard for people like Archie. The black, white divide is still prevelant despite all the hard work of people such as Nelson Mandela.
Job opportunities are scarce and the quality of education is low for many black communities across the country. Archie wants more then anything to be able to bring training to his people and teach people key trades such and plumbing and electronics.
Houses are built too small for the people who inhabit them, usually only consisting of 2 rooms. An extension would cost roughly 20-30,000 ZAR (£800-1200). This is an unobtainable amount of money for these people.
A simple cheeseburger meal from the fast food chain across the road is a luxury Archie could only dream of being able to afford.
I would like to send any money raised to Archie and his people for them to use to better their lives. They deserve the opportunities to experience life to its fullest as we in the west have long since taken for granted.
I don't have problem with colour, it's about someone's heart. - Archie
