Please read and act if you can. Any amount, no matter how small, helps. If you can't contribute monetarily, we would appreciate your prayers for this most deserving family.

Gerry and I first met Misty Nelius while she was a student at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Tx. We hired her on a part -time basis when we owned Huntsville Pet Clinic. She was a first class employee with a great work ethic and a very sweet personality. After she left us, we lost track of her for a number of years. When we caught back up with her, she had married Adam Archibeque and had given birth to beautiful quadruplets. Though they were 12 weeks premature, and had to remain in the hospital for some time, the 2 girls and 2 boys had no serious lasting problems.

Misty and Adam started making plans for their large family -to-be early in the pregnancy. They decided they would definitely need help, so they moved from Houston, where they both had established, well-paying jobs, to Round Top, Tx, where Misty's family lived. Both were able to continue their Houston jobs from home for a short time.

After the babies came home, all their planning went up in smoke. Tragedy struck when her Mom was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Plans had been made for Misty's Mom to watch the babies during the day while she worked. No longer able to manage the around-the-clock hours taking care of four infants required and work full-time, Misty was left with no choice but to leave her beloved ten year career behind. This left Adam to be the sole source of income for the family. He made the decision to take a job in the South Texas Oilfield to be able to compensate for the income lost becoming a one- income family.

With things not working out in Round Top, they moved to Corpus Christi, Tx, to be closer to Adam's work. Adam drove a truck for an oilfield services company, and was often gone for days, weeks and sometimes months at a time to try to make ends meet. Misty took care of the quads by herself, in a new city, without a support system. They went through constant illnesses, passed among the quads and Mom and Dad, often intestinal and respiratory, at the same time Corpus was having trouble keeping its water supply safe.

This past year, Misty's Mom ultimately died from the cancer, which was devastating to Misty. Adam battled mental health concerns, while trying to provide for his family of six. Eventually, Adam lost his job and was unemployed for quite awhile. Misty has done everything she can think of to bring in money, from starting a small business in her home, making things to sell, personal shopping and selling her plasma. Childcare for four small children is a major problem, because most jobs she can get in Corpus won't even pay enough to cover the childcare costs associated with her going to work. She has tried every possible child care option available, including state programs, going so far as to contact her State Representative for help, to no avail.

Presently, Adam is in a hospital in Austin, Tx, after what can best be described as a breakdown. At best, he will be in long-term care after he is released.

Misty has JUST finally found a job, but only has a very temporary answer to the child care issue ( one- two weeks).

Although she's managed to keep rent current, they will soon be behind again, and their van is days away from being repossessed. Any grace with their landlord has been exhausted, and one more late payment will result in eviction. Childcare is an absolute must so that Misty can return to work to help the family get back on its feet. They have exhausted all savings and retirement.

Misty has been against going the Go Fund Me route, but right now she is basically alone, and her back is against the wall. This is a case of a person who has done everything she can, and if not for her strong Christian faith, and Adam's as well, they would not have made it this far.
If anyone ever deserved a helping hand these two do. We are hoping to cover their outstanding debts, provide childcare for several months so she can work without juggling childcare issues and concern for her children' safety, and provide some peace of mind to this family so they can focus on what they should really be focused on.

Thank you for your prayers and consideration.
