Archery Range in Memory of John Kesteris
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Aiden Van Devender, a Life Scout with Troop 54 in Novi, Michigan, working toward my Eagle Scout rank. I’m raising $1,500 to build a three-target archery range at Camp Chickagami in Presque Isle, Michigan, in memory of my friend, John Kesteris, who tragically passed away on May 25, 2023.
John was a vibrant soul who lit up Camp Chickagami with his love for adventure and nature. He had a unique gift for making everyone feel welcome. His passion for teaching archery inspired me to become a Certified Archery Instructor. This archery range will honor John’s spirit by creating a safe, engaging space for campers to learn archery, connect with nature, and make lasting memories—just as John did for so many.
The total cost is $1,500, covering materials, equipment, and installation. Any extra funds raised will support suicide prevention initiatives, helping to save lives in John’s honor.
Why Your Support Matters
Your donation will:
Create a lasting tribute to John’s legacy of adventure, community, and kindness
Provide a safe space for campers to learn archery and build confidence
Support Camp Chickagami, a place that fosters leadership, friendship, and a love for nature
Share: Spread the word by sharing this campaign with friends, family, and your network.
Per BSA guidelines, all funds will be used directly for the project, with any surplus donated to suicide prevention efforts.
Thank you for supporting this meaningful project. Together, we can honor John’s memory and create a legacy that inspires campers and supports vital causes for years to come. Please donate by June 30, 2025, to help us meet our goal.
With gratitude,
