In memory of my grandfather, Lt. Colonel James Hughes, I’m raising funds this April for Parkinson’s Awareness Month to support The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
My grandpa served 34 years in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. He lived a life of discipline, strength, and service. He wasn’t just a veteran, he was a leader, a role model, and a father figure to me.
He fought battles most people never will. He was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and beat it, something that still amazes me. Later in life, Parkinson’s disease and dementia took their toll, but even through that, he carried himself with resilience and strength that inspired everyone around him.
This fundraiser is about honoring that legacy.
100% of all donations will go directly to The Michael J. Fox Foundation to help fund research, improve treatments, and move closer to a cure.
If you’re able to give, you’re not just donating, you’re helping continue the fight against Parkinson’s and honoring a man who gave everything to his country and his family.
Thank you for being a part of this.
