Heated Rivalry fans launch: Rachel Reid Fund for Parkinson's
Hateful online comments by some calling themselves “Heated Rivalry” fans led the show’s starts to issue a statement reading in part… “None of us need your hateful ‘love.’ … “We all respect and support and love each other and are on the same side.”

Let’s show the actors from and the people behind the show that its fans can do good. Rachel Reid is the author of the Game Changers book series that includes “Heated Rivalry,” and is battling Parkinson’s Disease herself.

All proceeds raised here will establish The Rachel Reid Fund will at the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. It’s looking at aggressive breakthroughs to end Parkinson’s. Money raised here:

Hello my name is Jacob Cohan. My grandfather who I call Pop, was diagnosed with Parkinson's at the age of 63. For 16 years, my entire life, my grandfather and my family’s life has changed drastically. Pop was a passionate lawyer who moved from Washington D.C. to Dallas to create his own law firm. He loved exploring, staying active, and sports.

Now, even simple tasks such as moving across the room in the house is a struggle. His walking is different, his thoughts sometimes hesitate, and sleeping doesn’t come easy to him. Watching someone you love go through this is heartbreaking, and it has deeply affected me.

I want to do something meaningful for him and for others battling Parkinson’s. So I am starting this fundraiser for Parkinson’s. 100% of the money raised from the fundraiser will go directly to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, which is dedicated to funding Parkinson’s research and supporting those living with the disease.

This project is part of my school IB project, but it’s also personal. I love raising money for causes I care about, and Pop has inspired me to make a difference. My goal is $1,800, and every dollar brings us closer to a cure. I will also be offering discounts on my photography business, @capturedbycohan as part of this fundraiser, so friends, family, and classmates can contribute while supporting my work.

Every donation helps. Even sharing this fundraiser on social media or telling your friends makes a difference. Together, we can help give Pop - and everyone living with Parkinson’s - a brighter future.

Remembering Ron Cheselka -Parkinson's Research Donation Fund
Dear friends and family,

On January 16, 2026, we lost a dear friend, husband, and father, Ron Cheselka. Ron fought Parkinson's with courage, never complained, and kept us laughing.

Ron had a long-running joke where he would greet friends with "Give me $35!" Even though I don't remember borrowing $35, I'd like to pay him back that money via a donation toward researching a cure for the Parkinson's disease, which he fought so bravely, and on behalf of Ron's family, we ask the same of Ron's supporters in lieu of flowers.

The donations go directly to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. This organization is on a mission to find a cure for Parkinson's disease and improve the lives of those affected by it.

Your donations will help fund innovative clinical trials that pave the way for new treatments.

Contributions will also support the development of therapies that enhance the quality of life for those living with Parkinson’s today.

In Memory of Robert Alan Hamilton
Our family created this page to honor the life of our father, Robert Alan “Alan” Hamilton, and to support the research that meant so much to him. Alan lived with Parkinson’s disease for nearly half his life. He was diagnosed at forty-four, at a time when he was in his professional prime and at the height of responsibility. He carried that diagnosis quietly for many years, determined to keep serving his clients with the steadiness and judgment they relied on. His greatest worry was that those who trusted him might doubt his ability to continue protecting their futures. He never gave them a reason to. His dedication, skill, and character allowed him to keep doing the work he loved, and when he finally shared his struggle, he was met with support rather than fear. Independence Bank stood by him throughout his entire career, and he retired on his own terms at sixty-five.

Alan chose to face Parkinson’s directly. In 2011 he elected to undergo a deep brain stimulation procedure. It was a difficult decision, and although the surgery resulted in a minor stroke, he recovered fully. The device gave him many more years of mobility, comfort, and connection with the people he loved. He approached his treatment the same way he approached the rest of his life, with a clear mind and a quiet resolve.

He did more than manage his own illness. He contributed to several research studies, hoping his experience might help others in the future. When his nephew was diagnosed less than ten years later, Alan offered guidance, reassurance, and honesty, sharing what he had learned through years of navigating the disease. Together they supported each other through the challenges that only those who live with Parkinson’s can fully understand. Alan also sponsored his nephew’s wife when she ran a marathon in support of the Michael J. Fox Foundation. Even as dementia set in during his later years, he never lost sight of the importance of continued research. He wanted progress. He wanted answers. He wanted a cure.

Alan passed away on January 7, 2026, surrounded by the family he loved. He leaves behind his wife of forty-five years, his children, grandchildren, siblings, and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a legacy of steadiness, kindness, and integrity that shaped not only his family, but his community. Parkinson’s took much from him, but it never took the core of who he was.

Our family will continue supporting research in his honor. We invite you to join us in advancing the work of the Michael J. Fox Foundation. Every contribution supports the search for better treatments, better outcomes, and ultimately a cure. It is a way to honor Alan’s life and the strength with which he faced this disease.

This year, I, alongside my wife, and a former squadmate, will be running in the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, DC on October, 26th, in support of fighting Parkinson's disease. 100% of donations made to my page will support the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.

About Parkinson's

Parkinson’s disease affects over 10 million people worldwide, slowly stealing their ability to move, speak, and live independently. While treatments can help manage symptoms, there is still no cure. But there is hope through research and medical science attention.

Since its founding in 2000, the Michael J. Fox Foundation has become the world’s leading organization for Parkinson’s research, raising over $1.75 billion and accelerating progress toward a cure. Their relentless commitment to funding high-impact research, advancing new therapies, and improving the lives of those living with Parkinson’s is nothing short of inspiring.

Thanks to this foundation, major breakthroughs have been made, such as the discovery of a biological marker for Parkinson’s in 2023, a game-changing step toward earlier diagnosis and targeted treatment, and the foundation's integral role in the passage of the National Plan to End Parkinson's Act, which was signed into law in July 2024.

However, there is still no cure for Parkinson's and there is work to be done to complete the mission. Please help me support the MJFF and in turn, the countless people who've been affected by the disease.

Personal Impact

In 2020, my stepfather and daughters' Grandpa was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. Since that day, he’s faced the challenge with courage, grit, and a refusal to be beaten by 'Parky'. At 68 years young, he continues the fight through Rocky Steady Boxing, a specialized boxing program for people with Parkinson’s and beach cycling at his home in Florida. If he can tackle his challenge, the race will be a jog in the park by comparison.
