Applied Scripted Arc is a new writing development and applied theatre company founded by Emma Dennis-Edwards and Shereen Jasmin Phillips. Our goal is to amplify underrepresented voices within the creative industries and create a more equitable new writing landscape.

We are fundraising to kickstart our community engagement work and provide funded bursary places for our script consultancy packages, delivered via our Community Interest Company Applied Scripted Arc Projects CIC.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT WORK

As part of our commitment to championing underrepresented voices, ASA will offer bespoke, accessible arts opportunities for people from marginalised backgrounds in Brent and Lambeth, through workshops and programmes grounded in applied theatre and storytelling.

These targeted opportunities will develop the skills, confidence and career prospects of underserved communities who have historically been excluded from creative opportunities.

SCRIPT CONSULTANCY BURSARIES

We established Applied Scripted Arc to offer a different approach to developing new writing, grounded in inclusivity, care, and cultural sensitivity. Our aim is to create a more equitable new writing landscape that better supports writers from working-class and Global Majority backgrounds.

We are currently fundraising to provide bursary places for our script consultancy packages, for underrepresented writers. These will be available to Black women and non-binary writers in the first instance.

Any donation helps us to create spaces where confidence can be rebuilt, skills can grow, and leadership can be nurtured.

You can help fund a full-day storytelling workshop for 10 community participants, opening space for new voices.
