On behalf of Tara, programs manager in Nepal, we have started this fundraiser in Australia to be able the send funds to the team in Nepal.

Many of you will have recently heard the shocking news that GVI has gone into liquidation with immediate effect. This sudden closure has left the GVI Nepal team, local staff, and the communities they serve in an incredibly difficult position.

For years, these community programs have been built on trust, relationships, and genuine partnership. They cannot simply be switched off overnight without causing significant harm to the people who rely on them and the local staff who have dedicated themselves to this work.

We are hoping to raise $1,200, which will provide one additional month of wages for our local team. This will give them the time and security to:

communicate the closure respectfully with community members;

explore options for continuing programs where possible; and

plan for future employment and sustainable pathways beyond GVI.

We are deeply disappointed that GVI, as a global organisation, has withdrawn so abruptly, leaving local staff, partners, and communities without the care, planning, or support that such a transition deserves.

We know times are tough for many people around the globe right now, but we're reaching out to everyone who has been part of this community—former volunteers, supporters, and friends—to help us ensure this chapter is handled with dignity and care: your support will make an immediate difference.

All funds raised will go directly towards supporting the local team, including staff wages and outstanding local supplier costs such as transport, food, and other essential operational expenses.
