Violent attacks on Hindus have started in Bangladesh once again. Last year (Oct-2021) many temples & families were attacked during Durga Puja and towns were burnt.
Unfortunately, this year, the communal violence started on 16th August 2022. Attacks happened primarily in Satkhira and Paikgacha districts. More than 50 people from the minority Hindu community have been killed, 875 are injured, and 11 women have been raped. More than 300 houses and shops were burnt, followed by massive looting. After losing their livelihoods, more than 3,000 people have fled their homes and are in need of food, water, and shelter. The media is silent as usual and Bangladesh Hindus remain ignored community facing the anger of Jihadis without any media coverage. International Human Rights Commissions rarely visit the internal parts where violence against minorities has become a yearly ritual. Union of Catholic Asian carried the news about one local attack, but overall there is no coverage of the situation.
Therefore, Bangladesh Minority Human Rights is making an urgent appeal to the world community once again. We have requested the Hindu Alliance of America (Hinduhub.org) to launch this Campaign on our behalf. The donations will be received by the Hindu Alliance of America and transferred to Bangladesh Minority Human Rights to make sure the help reaches the victims and needy families. Your contribution will bring hope and health as well as alleviate the pain and suffering of minority community members who find themselves in a dangerous situation once again this year. Thanks for your generous help!
