Anxiety And lupus service dog for Jordyn, 15.

Jordyn is our 15 year old daughter who has been diagnosed with Depression, anxiety and pre-lupus and is in extreme pain every single day of her life. She’s under great care of a fantastic paediatrician and rheumatologist. Despite the daily pain, she never complains, and tries to get through each day.

Her love for animals and all human life is incredible, going out of her way to save all suffering animals, and helping all people from all walks of life who are downtrodden, begging on the streets, unhappy at home; giving all that she has to help others. She even adopts elderly cats that no one wants and loves and cares for them.   She recently adopted a cat that is an incontinent 13 year old to sit alongside her other adopted cat which is 14 years old. We are so proud of her.

Due to her lupus challenges, she suffers from anxiety and stress and cannot go out alone, cannot go shopping like all other 15 year olds and is fighting to overcome all these challenges.  She has not been able to physically go into school for almost 3 years.  She has suffered two very traumatic events whilst in school that no child should ever have to suffer through.  

A service dog would change her life beyond all recognition, enabling her to go out. The cost of the dog, $3000, and the 6-12 months training of $5000 makes it a challenge for us.  The wait list for anxiety service dogs is about 2 years.  We are striving to get her a service dog sooner than this, so that Jordyn can live her teenage years with some sense of normalcy. 

She is so excited that we are endeavouring to raise funds that already her motivation has reached new heights, so the sooner we can make this a reality the better.
