I’m Ant from Bolton, Manchester, UK — and I have a dream: to build my very own strawberry farm, grown entirely using vertical tower systems.

I want to grow delicious, sweet strawberries in a way that’s smarter, cleaner, and kinder to the environment. Here’s why I believe vertical towers are the perfect way to do it:

My Plan: Years 1 & 2

I’m starting right here in my garden, where I’ll be putting up two small polytunnels. Inside them, I’ll install my first vertical towers and begin growing my first crops.

I’ve chosen hydroponic vertical systems because they’re one of the most efficient and sustainable ways to grow:

They deliver 3 to 5 times more produce than regular farming, using only a fraction of the space.

They use up to 90% less water than soil-based growing.

No soil is needed at all — everything is clean, controlled, and mess-free.

They rely on natural health and balance, so no artificial fertilisers or pesticides are required.

It’s a way of growing that’s good for us, good for the land, and good for the fruit.

My Future Goal

Once I’ve mastered the system and grown my first crops, I have big plans ahead!

My dream is to move to a larger space — either a spacious ground-floor unit or a converted 40ft shipping container. Inside, I’ll install hundreds of vertical towers, all growing thousands and thousands of strawberries every single year.

I want to bring fresh, sweet, pesticide-free strawberries to everyone locally — grown right here in Bolton, with love, and using the very best modern growing methods.
