Support for Family in Need
Donation protected
Hi my name is Cassidy I am fundraising to support Antonio and his family obtain their goal of a sustainable and independent life here in the US.
This past year Denver has welcomed many migrant families from Venezuela. I have witnessed ordinary people doing incredible things to make a direct positive impact on these families’ lives. A few days after Christmas I met Antonio, Karina, Alessia and Fernando. They were living at a local shelter, and I formed an immediate bond with them. Like many others, they traveled through eight countries, mostly on foot, to the US in hopes of greater opportunity for themselves and their children.
The path ahead for them is extremely difficult and often seems unattainable. However, I refuse to believe that it is impossible. When I moved to the US with my mom and sister, at the age of seven, we had support from others that allowed us to begin a prosperous life here. My goal is to do the same for Antonio and his family. I have made the commitment to provide housing, food, and essential supplies for the next 3-6 months until they are able to support themselves independently. Through a connection I made with a compassionate and generous local resident, I was able to find them housing and today we moved them into a fully furnished apartment. Yay!! See photo. Next, we will register Alessia and Fernando at the neighborhood school and connect them with local resources.
Many of you have asked how you may help. There are numerous ways, from donating financially, donating your time, or messaging your local Congresspeople and Senators to advocate for families like theirs. For those of you able to contribute financially I have set up this Go Fund Me. All donations will go directly to provide housing, food, transportation, and essential supplies for Antonio, Karina, Alessia and Fernando. If you would like to make a financial contribution to this resilient and loving family, I have structured two options, 1) Commit to a monthly donation for 3-6 months or 2) Make a one-time contribution. Any donation would be greatly appreciated by all and make an enormous direct impact. I will be sure to let Antonio and Karina know how many of you are supporting them in their journey to create a sustainable and independent life.
Many thanks.
