Surviving to Saving Lives: Help Launch The Echo Movement

This Is Personal: Why I’m Fighting Back

My name is Kaitlin, and I’m not just the founder of The Echo Movement — I’m its first survivor.

In 2024, I was forced to flee my home state of Arizona for my safety. After enduring eight months of relentless bullying, stalking, harassment, and abuse by people I once loved and trusted — including my own mother, sister, former friends, ex-boyfriends, and even members of the local Catholic community — I hit my breaking point. What made it worse was discovering that even doctors, people I should have been able to trust with my life, were not just complicit—they were participating. The betrayal was so deep, I now live with severe PTSD and struggle to trust anyone in the healthcare system.

But this story didn’t begin there.

I was bullied by my older sister from a very young age — mocked, humiliated, physically harmed, and emotionally shattered. My cries for help were met with silence. I was told to “get over it,” that “it’s just how she is.” As the years passed, the bullying escalated, and so did the isolation. My mother, who I confided in, betrayed me by sharing my private information and triangulating me against my sister. When I finally cut ties to protect myself, the retaliation came fast and loud.

This wasn’t just family drama. It became dangerous — life-threatening. I was followed, stalked, slandered, and even nearly run over by my sister and others — while they filmed it, laughing. No one believed me. Not the police. Not the community. Not even people I once called best friends. I was told to "repent" for being a victim.

It’s taken me nearly a year to become functional again — to start breathing, trusting, and dreaming. But I refuse to let what happened to me define the end of my story.

That’s why I’m creating The Echo Movement.

The Pain of Silence: What Bullying Really Looks Like

Bullying isn’t always kids in hallways calling names. It can be your manager handing you drugs and sabotaging your career. Your family gaslighting you until you doubt your own sanity. It can be community leaders using gossip as a weapon. It can be digital — cruel texts, public shaming, or online mobs. It’s isolation. It’s fear. And it’s silence.

That silence almost broke me. And it’s breaking thousands of others every day — kids, adults, students, workers — with nowhere to go, no one to turn to.

That’s where The Echo Movement comes in.

The Echo Movement is more than an idea — it’s a lifeline. A first-of-its-kind platform designed to empower victims of bullying with tools, resources, and support when they need it most.

  • AI-Powered, Always-On Support: We’re developing a trauma-informed app that leverages advanced AI (like ChatGPT) and social media APIs to give users an immediate outlet to document abuse, receive guidance, and feel heard.
  • Safe, Smart Reporting: Whether you’re being bullied at school, work, or online, the app will guide you through documenting incidents in a way that holds abusers accountable — safely, securely, and legally.
  • Real Help, One Tap Away: The app will flag risky behaviors and potential threats — like school violence — giving schools and communities the tools to step in before tragedy strikes.
  • Systemic Change, One Institution at a Time: From workplace toxicity to educational reform, we’re designing programs that empower individuals and hold institutions accountable.

We’re keeping some of the development details private for protection — because those who tried to destroy me would love to destroy this too. But I promise you this: this tool will change lives. And it might even save them.

Why Now?

Because the longer we wait, the more people suffer in silence. Victims are slipping through the cracks every day — feeling invisible, unheard, and alone. But I’m living proof that when someone is heard, healing begins.

I’ve lived this pain. And I’ve crawled my way out of it. Now, I want to build something that could have saved me — and that can save others.
