Anthony's Eagle Scout Project @ Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve

My name is Anthony De Leon, and I am a Life Scout in Troop 226 in Corpus Christi, TX. I am currently working towards my Eagle Scout rank which includes completing an Eagle Scout Service Project which impacts and gives back to the community.

For my Eagle Scout Service Project, I will lead a community project to build approximately two to four seats/benches at the Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve and I want to include removing old and rotting flower beds, cleaning out the pond, and clearing some trails. My project will help the Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve save time and money on maintenance, labor, and construction, as the park recently went through large budget cuts and even a proposal of completely shutting down the park. My project will continue to allow people in the community to experience and enjoy the park in its full glory and hopefully keep the park open and prevent it from being shut down.

In order to complete my Eagle Scout Service Project, I am reaching out to family, friends, and the community to help me reach my goal of raising $500 to offset the costs of construction materials and supplies needed to complete my project.
