Answers for Ellie Grace
Elizabeth Grace Luker was born a beautiful and perfect baby girl. Within a few months her mother noticed that her muscle tone was not what it should be. At 18 months old she was finally learning to roll over but was still not walking or crawling. After many tests and months of physical therapy, they were left with no diagnosis. As time went on she did begin to progress, however never developed reflexes from head to toe. For several years she ran anywhere from 104 to 106.5° temperatures every 4 to 8 weeks with no sign of infection or cause found. She has struggled with chronic migraines for 2 years and now severe GI issues. Over last few months Ellie Grace has lost weight and fallen into the 2nd percentile on the growth chart. Her appetite has plummeted, and to be quite frank this sweet little 6 year old looks as if she is 9 months pregnant. Ellie Grace is dealing with an EXTREME amount of abdominal distention along with newly developed neurological symptoms. She has missed more days of school than the family can count and is no longer able to participate in gymnastics. In the last two months she has been taken to the OR four times. Yet at this time, there is no diagnosis and they have yet to relieve her pain and swelling. She has finally been taken on by one of the best colorectal surgeons in the nation. Her family got word that they will need to travel from Sweet Water, AL to Nationwide Children's Hospital in Ohio this week to receive the care that Ellie Grace needs. This baby girl has fought one battle after another from the time she was six months old. She is kind, smart, beautiful, and deserves so much more out of life than this. If you feel led to help the Luker family by easing their financial burdens of travel, loss of wages, hotel stays, cars rented, plane tickets, childcare arrangements, etc. I know their entire family would be ETERNALLY grateful! Please continue to keep Ellie Grace and her family in your thoughts and prayers! If you would like to donate through Venmo, please send to: @brittney-luker
