Hi, my name is Kabrina, and I’m preparing to go on my first mission trip to Kenya!

I didn’t grow up knowing God. For a long time, faith wasn’t part of my story—but in a season when I felt lost and unsure of my direction, God met me right where I was. That encounter changed everything for me. From that moment on, God stirred a fire in my heart—a passion I’ve been intentional about fanning again and again, guarding what He placed inside of me and continuing to say yes to the calling He’s grown in me. Experiencing His love so personally is what gave me such a heart for people who may feel far from God or unseen.

Today, I have the privilege of serving in full-time ministry through outreach, where I get to help meet both practical and spiritual needs in our local community. Being in the trenches with people—loving, listening, praying, and serving in tangible ways—has only deepened my heart for those who feel forgotten or far from hope. It’s what stirred my desire to step beyond what’s familiar and say yes to serving in places where people may be more difficult to reach.

Last year, I was preparing to go on two different mission trips, and both ended up being canceled due to unexpected health challenges. Instead of discouraging me, that season actually strengthened my faith and stirred an even deeper excitement in me to go when the opportunity came again. It reminded me that God’s timing is intentional and His plans are always greater than our own. As Proverbs 16:9 says, “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” I truly believe Kenya is part of the bigger and better plan God had in store all along.

This trip to Kenya will be focused on partnering with local churches—helping establish permanent places of worship and reaching communities that have yet to hear the Gospel. More than anything, my heart is to show up with humility, love, and a willingness to serve however I’m needed—whether that’s offering practical help, prayer, encouragement, or simply being present. My prayer is that people would feel seen, valued, and deeply loved.
