Annual Flowers: Revive Jonesboro Public Library
Donation protected
Lent25 is raising money to plant annual flowers at the Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library. Annuals add excitement and beauty, but were unfortunately cut from the budget when the library lost over 50% of its funds.
Public libraries are places of learning, connection, and service—especially for those who may have few other options. Right now, libraries are under threat. We are coming together in faithful action to protect and strengthen our libraries.
Lent25 (a group from the First Presbyterian Church - Jonesboro) has been meeting to discern what is a Lenten practice for our time. Our journey has led us to this statement. In Isaiah, we are called to “repair the breach” (Isaiah 58:12), and in Matthew, Jesus reminds us, “What you do to the least of these, you do to me” (Matthew 25:45). As people of faith, we have a responsibility to care for our communities and ensure that the resources meant to serve all people remain strong.
