Our oldest son Dylan was tragically killed while riding his bicycle to work on May 23, 2013. Dylan was only 21 years old and just starting his adult life in a promising career in the electrical trade when a garbage truck driver tragically ended it.

Every day is difficult without our son, but it becomes even more challenging around the holidays without him with us. Dylan was born on Christmas Day, so it really makes that day forever difficult now. Every year since Dylan's passing, we have held a toy drive fundraiser in his honor. Helping others during this difficult time of year, helps us get through the holidays.

Dylan loved children and many of the children in our small community loved Dylan and enjoyed having him as a swim coach, big buddy, camp counselor or tutor. So it only felt fitting to do a fundraiser for children. Having a toy drive for foster youth in particular felt right because in 2014, I became a foster parent. Foster children and teens need extra support during the holidays and it felt right to give back to the program that gave us so much hope when we were going through the darkest time in our lives.

All donations will go directly to local foster youth through the Contra Costa County Foster Family Network. I will collect unwrapped toys, gift cards, teen gifts and cash donations. If you would like to donate a toy/gift don't hesitate to contact me for a local pick up or you can also drop toys off directly to my home. This account is set up for cash donations, which 100% of it will be used to purchase toys, gift cards and teen gifts needed for the foster youth program.
