Annie & Bill

Hiya my name is Steve and I'm trying to help my Mother and Father enjoy the last days of their lives .

My Father served in The Royal Navy during the Second World War and had lots of scary war memories. Particularly of the Island of Malta when the Stuka dive bombers were attacking both the island and his ship.

Annie , a wee Scots lass, worked as a printer's assistant in the local biscuit factory.

They met soon after WW II , fell in love and married on the 25th June 1949.

They were a hard working couple , worked all of their lives and saved for their retirement .

They enjoyed a happy retirement together . they enjoyed lots of days out in the car and several holidays to Spain in the winter .

Alas ,during their nineties they became infirm and needed care workers to look after them. All went well until they met Rebecca Fidler in 2019. Rebecca was sentenced on the 22/05/2023 for stealing the remainder of their life savings of £75,000 and was jailed for 2 years 6 months. Sadly Bill never saw her sentenced . November 2022 both Annie and Bill caught Covid 19.Annie managed to fight off the infection but Bill was taken to hospital in an ambulance. It was the last time that Annie saw her husband of 73 years. He died 3 weeks later in December 2022 of Covid19.

Annie will be 92 in June and although she walks with a zimmer frame she is still full of fun and enjoys company. She is struggling to pay for her care and any donations would go a long way to helping her enjoy the rest of her life.
