Running the MK marathon for Macmillan
I know many of you know my story. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020. I was incredibly lucky and with an early diagnosis, my life is pretty much back to normal. But the experience made me question my priorities and my lifestyle and I made the decision to change careers and start working for Macmillan. The last seven months has been the steepest of learning curves but has shown me just how amazing the organisation is and how much they do for people living with cancer. If I had known just how much Macmillan does, I might not have had to go through some of the battles I faced alone.
Last year I decided that I would try something I had never done before and entered the MK marathon to raise some money for Macmillan. But I didn’t believe in myself and so whilst I did actually complete the marathon, I didn’t raise the money. So I am putting myself though it again! On 1st May I will be attempting to complete the Milton Keynes Marathon again. Please, please, please support me to hit my target so that I don’t have to run another marathon again!
My training is going well but it is getting tough and I know that raising money will give me the motivation I need to keep going. It doesn’t matter how big or small your contribution, every single penny helps. If everyone who knows me makes even a small contribution, we can make a big difference together!
Thank you so much for supporting me.
