I am the son of Ann Martinez and all throughout my childhood my mom was there for me as not just a mom, but my dad as well. She made sure everything we ever needed was taken care of for both my sister and I. The things she did as a single mother are amazing and I often wonder if I could do them myself. From giving us her portions of food, to donating plasma constantly to make ends meet, our mom did anything and everything to make sure we were taken care of at all times. So it was deeply saddening when she passed in December of 2021 of breast cancer. I have been a shell of my former self, as has all who she loved, and I wanted to do something to show others how great she was. 

 

I know her story is hardly unique and their are many single mothers out there who do anything and everything for their children. Unfortunately, some, like our mom, fall through the cracks where they don't make enough to take care of their family, but make too much for assistance from government programs. This fund will aim to help those mothers and all who apply by dispersing money to those who submit a simple video application. No complicated paperwork here. Depending on how much money is raised, we can help more single mothers take care of their families.

 

And here is my promise to all of you. I will price match up to $5000 whatever you donate. I never like to rely on people or ask others to do things I wouldn't do. I'm hoping we can raise at least $5000 here so I can match you all for $10,000 in total and give out $2000 each to 5 single mothers. The deadline for this fundraiser will be December 17, 2022. My mom always believed in helping others and this is my way to do something she would have gladly done if she had the means.
