Thank you for taking the time to read my GoFund request and for supporting my once-in-a-lifetime conservation trip in Peru!

Hi everyone!

My name is Milita, and I am currently studying Year 1 FdSc animal management and zoology student at Capel Manor College.

With a genuine passion for animals, I have gained valuable hands-on experience through my studies and work experience, such as working as an animal keeper, farm volunteer, horse stable hands, and finally working as a dog walker and sitter. My dream is to become an animal rehabilitation and zoo/animal inspector as I want to help make sure that animals live comfortable and safe as they deserve.

I have been given an amazing opportunity to volunteer in the Amazon rainforest as part of a conservation project at the Taricaya Ecological Reserve.

This trip would allow me to work closely with unique animals while taking part in essential conservation activities, such as rehabilitation, doing biodiversity surveys, reforestation, butterfly project, and turtle conservation.

This opportunity would support my future career by helping me develop new skills, boost my confidence, challenge me both physically and mentally. I am always eager to learn new things and gain experience in various environments.

I will learn some of new skills and tasks when i will be doing part in the Amazon such as;

- Conducting wildlife surveys to help us keep track of animals in the area

- Feeding and caring for animals at the rescue and rehabilitation centre

- Helping preserve and protect freshwater turtles

- Trail clearing

- Maintaining the reserve

- Working on the pilot farm

- Helping on the butterfly project

- Monitoring of wildlife sensors

- Assist with reforestation efforts

Explore Peru’s wonders

I will be visiting some of Peru’s most famous sites. Explore the Sacred Valley, visit the markets in Aguas Calientes, and enjoy a guided tour of Manchu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. I am so excited to learn about Peruvian culture and history, which is something that I am exploring passionately. I also will have an opportunity to engage with the local community by teaching children at school about the importance of animal care and conservation.
