In Loving Memory of Angie

On Sunday evening, August 16, 2026, our hearts were shattered. Angie, a beloved coworker and friend, was at the Des Plaines River in Libertyville with her family when her son Johnny got into trouble in the water. Without a second thought, Angie went in after him. Angie got Johnny to safety, and then went under. Family members and bystanders rushed to help, and first responders worked to save Angie, but Angie could not be saved. Johnny is alive today because his mother chose him, without hesitation, in the last moments of her life. Angie was not just a coworker to those around her. Angie was family. After years of being neighborhood friends, Angie joined our team and became a constant, warm, generous presence in our lives and in the lives of our children. Anyone who knew Angie knew someone kind, wonderful, hardworking, and deeply selfless. In the end, Angie gave everything to save her son.

Now Angie's family is left to navigate the unimaginable: grieving a mother, a daughter, a sibling, a wife, and a friend, while also facing funeral expenses and the enormous adjustment of life without Angie. Angie's three elementary-aged children need support now more than ever:
  • Anna
  • Michael
  • Johnny
Funds raised will go directly toward funeral and burial costs and immediate financial support for Angie's family as they face the days ahead. We are asking our community, our friends, and anyone whose life Angie touched to help carry Angie's family through this heartbreak. Every gift, no matter the size, will help ease the burden during a time when words alone are not enough. Please consider giving what you can, sharing Angie's story, and holding the family in your thoughts. Angie died the way Angie lived, putting the people Angie loved first.

With love and heartbreak,
Your friends, neighbors, and family
