Angels in Our Town 2023

Angels in our Town is a Parade and Concert in Bowral involving strong community participation that celebrates and honours our emergency workers, first responders, service organisations and volunteers in the communities of Moss Vale, Bowral, Mittagong and the surrounding villages of the Southern Highlands of New South Wales.

These courageous workers deserve public recognition and our heartfelt gratitude. They are our unsung heroes who often go unthanked for their dedication and commitment. They are the Angels in Our Town…

Your donation will go towards support and sponsorship of the Parade & Concert. For example:

• Closing the streets and paying for traffic management is $10,000.

• Costumes for our 200 performers is $2,000.

• Music and sound for the parade is $9,000.

• Auditing of accounts for reporting is $3,000.

• Stage and production management is $6,000.

These are some of the most costly line items. The full budget runs to $50,000 - that's if you include all the bells and whistles, but we can still deliver a spectacular event to honour our unsung Angels and celebrate our community with this revised budget of $25,000.

Thanks to all the fantastic support - in-kind, gifted and volunteered - we have managed to keep our costs down to the minimum.

With drought, fires, Covid and floods, there are a lot of negative influences in our world today. This event seeks to bring joyful energy and a palpable sense of celebration, fun and connectivity throughout the Southern Highlands community.

The Parade will involve first responders such as RFS/SES, Police, Healthcare workers, local service groups, such as the CWA and RSL and school teachers accompanied by children of all ages dressed as angels. The parade culminates with a concert in Corbett Gardens hosted by Monica Trapaga and featuring other fabulous musicians, choirs and much more!
