The Story…Angela Commesso-A vibrant 6-year-old, who loved to draw, paint and color. Loved school and learning. Angela came home one day after school, a hot summer day and wanted to go swimming. While in the pool, I heard a sudden cry, which did not sound normal. I ran up to the deck, and Angela somehow got out of the pool, but instantly I knew something was wrong…Ps, she suffered a stroke. The shock was put threw our whole family!!! How could a six-year-old suffer a stroke!! Well, it was true!! Angela spent the Summer of 1996 in Stony Brook and St. Charles hospitals. Thru years of physical and occupational therapy, she had somewhat of everyday life. Angela proceeded to go through her school years with struggles but made it through!!
Angela not only went to college but also got her Masters's Degree in Psychology. Fast forward to 2017-Angela had landed a job in the Bronx as a Mental Health Counselor for drugs and alcohol. Of course, we were so excited for her as parents!! On Sunday, we went out to dinner for her Grandmothers Birthday. Angela had gone to her apartment, which was around the corner from her grandparent's house. She decided to walk back and tripped and fell. She had blacked out at that point; two strangers brought her back to her grandparent's house. All seemed well for a couple of hours, but things worsened. Angela’s boyfriend at the time went to see how she was feeling; Angela’s face was blue, and he told her we are going to the hospital. Angela wound up having emergency brain surgery that night, and her life was saved.
Currently, Angela and her fiancé Mario are not only planning a wedding but having their first child together in September.
Unfortunately, Angela just suffered a second stroke, which shocked her fiancé and her family. Angela is alive, and her baby is doing well. Unfortunately, they will have a hard time paying their rent and bills due to the loss of one salary. Please help us to support this young couple in this tough time of what is supposed to be a joyous occasion.
