CASE INVESTIGATION UPDATE | FELONY HIT & RUN/DUI SUSPECT ARRESTED

On Monday, 03/14/2022, Galt PD Officers responded to Ayers Lane for a report of a female down in the roadway. Upon arrival, Officers located the female who appeared to have a significant head injury. She was immediately transported to Kaiser South by Cosumnes Fire Department. Shortly after being transported to the hospital, the female was identified as 16-year-old, Angel Renteria, of Galt.

Angel spent 5 months in hospital and now has returned home. She has suffered permanent severe brain injury amongst many other injuries. She is diagnosed with being minimally conscious and coma like state. Kelly the mother has had to quit her mental health nursing career to care for her daughter. This is a life ripped out from under them. They are grasping at the day to day needs and care for one another. While trying to deal with suspect living on same street and daily drive bys, Kelly is grasping at obtaining a vehicle to transport her daughter to and from medical or social outings in the near future. Local bus transit isn't available day to day let alone different cities, where her care is. Funds will be used 1st to obtain a vehicle to transport Angel then for any day to day needs that Angel or her her mother needs.
