Hey there! I'm Andrew, this is my wife Savannah. We have two kids, and we're in a real rough spot at the moment. I was laid off by Bungie on October 30th 2023. It's been about a year, and I still have been unable to find gainful full time employment, making do with unemployment supplemented by freelance work. I'm disabled, which limits my options, but I've been taking on as much work as I can, and am still applying to new positions daily, but unfortunately it's not been enough to keep up with bills. I have a few irons in the fire that will hopefully help us out in a couple months, but right now we're at the end of our rope and I'm not sure what else to do. I truly hate asking for help when there is so, so much need in the world (particularly right now!), but I'm out of options at this point and enough people have told me to do one of these that I'm willing to give it a shot. Nothing else I've been doing has been working, and this is the very last lever I can pull. I'm so sorry!! We just need some help to stay afloat and pay rent/car/utilities while I'm between longer term projects. If it's at all possible to chip in a few bucks here or there, it would be dearly and immensely appreciated. Again, I'm extremely sorry for even asking at a time like this, and if we didn't also have little ones, I wouldn't be. But as it stands, well, we need some help pretty bad right now, and I'm not really sure what else I can do.

Update — 12/19/2025:
After I disabled the fund last time, I was able to pick up a part time contract at Epic for a few months, which was cut as soon as the seasonal content shipped. That was in June. I am still taking on as much freelance as I'm able, to the point that I'm essentially begging for it, and I am still applying everywhere I can, even for positions that wouldn't come close to covering our cost of living on their own, just because unemployment is running out again and I am at the end of my rope here. Communication is very slow around this time of year, but the bills don't stop coming. We are behind on everything. I have been selling media, instruments, trying to keep us above water, but I just watched a repo man tow my car away and I don't really know what else to do anymore!

I haven't even been job searching in the game industry itself for a long time because I am scrambling to cast as wide a net as possible. There is so much—SO MUCH—work that I can do!! But nobody wants any of it anymore, I guess!? I don't even know where to go if we get evicted, I can't find anything else on this side of the state that we can afford, much less on essentially no income. I'm sorry. This is extremely embarrassing, it feels guilty and irresponsible, I'm so sorry. I know this is one more GFM on your timeline in a sea of other people in need!

I hate so, so much to ask again.
But if you're willing and able to help out or share, my family and I would be grateful beyond words.

Thanks,
Andrew
