On Sunday March 24th, my uncle wasn't feeling well and called me over to check his blood pressure. It was 212/147 and I felt that he definitely needed to go to the hospital. At the hospital, we found out he was in Afib and his heart rate was really high. They changed up his daily meds and got it lowered then sent him home with new prescriptions and orders to rest and make appointments to see his PCP and a cardiologist. He took a couple days off and went back to work on Wednesday afraid to take too much time off. On Monday April 1st, he met with his PCP and he agreed with med swaps and explained it was good that I'm seeing cardiologist on Wednesday and he went over signs and symptoms to be aware of. On Tuesday, he went to work and felt ok that morning, till around lunchtime. He started to feel a numbness on the left side of his face and tingling in his fingers on his left side. He went right to Portsmouth hospital ER and they got him right in for possible stroke. After a ton of tests they feel he suffered a mild stroke TIA and he was still in AFib. On Thursday morning they perform a cardioversion to get his rhythm back to normal. He is under orders to rest and allow the med changes to take effect. This will be a hard task for him being that he needs to work. New meds also means they are going to cost more.
My uncle being out of work has put a huge strain on him and his family. At a time where he needs to be focused on rest and healing, he is stressed and worried about money. Any little bit that anyone can spare to help them out until he gets back to work would be greatly appreciated as well as prayers and well wishes.
