My fiancé Andres was taken by ICE from his workplace — ripped away from me without warning or reason. They accused him with false allegations, painting him as someone he absolutely is not. Andres is the most kind, gentle, and loving person I have ever known. We live together, we were building a life together — dreaming of a future filled with love, safety, and stability.
He has never done anything wrong. He has always tried to do everything by the book, to follow every rule, and to contribute with respect and dignity. But that didn’t matter. He was treated like a criminal for simply trying to build a better life.
Now, we’re facing an $8,000 legal process just to fight for his freedom — money we don’t have. I’m scared. I feel helpless. And I can’t bear the thought of him locked away for something he didn’t do, just because of where he was born.

Update: Right now, the current administration has paused all immigration applications from 19 countries — and Venezuela is one of them. Because of this, Andres has become an innocent victim of a situation completely outside of his control. We were already in the final stage of the process. Everything was done. All we needed was his final court date. But with these sudden changes making it even harder for immigrants to become legal, his attorney made the difficult decision to file a habeas corpus petition so Andres can be released as soon as possible. To move forward, we now need to hire a second attorney who will assist our current lawyer and represent Andres in Federal court. This comes with an additional cost of $5,000 — money that I simply do not have. I am doing everything I can. I pay all of our living expenses on my own, and I send Andres money every week so he can afford basic food inside detention. Every donation received goes directly to his legal case — nothing else. I am not using a single dollar for myself. But at this point, I am financially drained, and I’m reaching out because I truly need help.
