I am a single mother, I have been the only parent present since the birth of my daughter almost 14 years ago, and I have been self-employed in the music industry for most of this time.

Unfortunately, quality music business work that had been sustaining us has slowed considerably, and while I’ve been searching the job market consistently for almost a year, nothing beneficial has come of it as of yet. At the advice of several HR reps, I am preparing to take classes that will make me more marketable and competitive in my job search.

In these tough times, I been driving Uber, but it’s not enough, as a significant amount of the money has gone right back into my older car for repairs, maintenance, etc. (Chicago streets and potholes have been hard on my car!). With that, bills and expenses continue to pile up, including pending graduation expenses and an 8th grade trip to D.C. for my daughter, that I have not been able to put a down payment on.

Add to these things my health issues that called for medication with side effects that sidelined me in the very beginning, and expenses piled up even more. Yep, life has been happening...but I refuse to give up, especially for my child.

Anything you give will be a total blessing, no donation is too small! All donations will be used to pay off immediate past due and final bills, pay for my daughter’s 8th grade trip which she GREATLY deserves (she’s a straight ‘A’ student, already taking H.S. Honors Algebra, NJHS member, violist, and has a heart of gold), and to cover out of pocket expenses for classes and certifications that will help me become more competitive and marketable in my job search.
