This is incredibly difficult for both my husband and me to share.

Eight years ago, my childhood neighbor and I started dating. Early on, I had to have a tough conversation with him. I was diagnosed with Turner Syndrome, and I knew it would impact our dream of having children—something we both always wanted.

For those unfamiliar, Turner Syndrome is a chromosomal disorder where I only have one X chromosome. In my case, and many others, this means I have short stature and, most significantly, fertility issues.

Despite this challenge—the one thing I felt I was "supposed" to be able to do as a woman—he stood by me. He comforted me through every moment of defeat, every tear, and every time I felt like giving up on my dream of becoming a mother.

Last year, we got married, and it was the best day of our lives. Watching my husband play with his nephew absolutely melts my heart. Anyone who knows us can tell you that we've always dreamed and talked about having kids. We truly believe, God willing, it will happen.

After exploring all our options, we've decided to begin our surrogacy journey. We're a mix of excited, nervous, and every emotion in between, but we know without a doubt that it will be incredibly worth it.
