For over 50 years, Anderson Humane (formerly Anderson Animal Shelter) has been the leading animal welfare organization in the Fox Valley area. Since then, we’ve found homes for more than 85,000 pets, impacted nearly a quarter million people, and have become one of the largest privately funded animal welfare organizations in Illinois. Our community has changed and has grown significantly since our founding. As we plan Anderson’s future, we must anticipate how our community’s animal-related needs will continue to change and we must evolve to meet those challenges.
Built in the 1960s, the shelter was designed to provide short-term care for dogs and cats until they were reclaimed, adopted, or euthanized. Now, as a limited admission shelter with a nearly six-fold increase in adoptions, more than 350 volunteers, and over 60 full/part-time staff, our current facility is no longer capable of meeting community needs.
Want to join us in making a difference? Help raise money to benefit Anderson Humane...any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to the community.
Anderson strives to create mutually beneficial connections between people and animals through programs that raise awareness and inspire kindness, empathy, and respect throughout our community.
