We’re back for our fifth annual Doggos & Deadlifts - the most heartwarming deadlift-only charity event of the year!

This is an unsanctioned, all-ages, all-levels lifting event where strength meets compassion. Since launching this event, we've raised over $20,000 for Anderson Humane and helped connect countless animals with forever homes. This year, we’re going even bigger.

Every dollar raised goes directly to Anderson Humane to support rescue, care, and adoption efforts.

Adoptable dogs will be on-site

Taco truck, games, bounce house, & vendors

Custom dog tags, tees, photo ops, & prizes

In Fall of 2025, I’ll be running the Chicago Marathon as a charity partner. The charity I’ve been graciously welcomed to represent and to raise money for is Anderson Humane! I chose this charity because of my time as a foster and adopter of two of my best friends, Mikhail and Sophia. Nine years ago, I rescued Sophia (cat) at 2 months old from the Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Center, and over a year ago, I rescued Mikhail (cat), a spunky 2-year-old from the Chicago Animal Control Center.

Organizations such as the Anderson Humane require copious resources to provide care and a new lease on life to countless lives in Illinois.

My goal is to raise $2500 for them to help with the resources needed to continue the work they do, selflessly, day in and day out.

I’m grateful that you are considering assisting me in raising funds and awareness for Anderson Humane.

The fourth annual Doggos and Deadlifts will be held on July 13th at SURGE!

This is an unsanctioned deadlift-only charity competition to benefit Anderson Humane. To date, we've raised over $15,000 and found permanent homes for animals in need!

HOW TO REGISTER

To register, please submit your registration using the link below. Lifters will then find a sponsor to raise money for our cause, which can be donated using the GoFundMe campaign!

Note: Lifters are not required to wear singlets and may wear whatever they wish, including equipment such as straps, single-ply suits, etc. This event is strictly for fun and to raise money for a good cause.

SPONSORING A LIFTER?

Lifters are being encouraged to find sponsors who will donate $25 per successful attempt. All lifters can perform three attempts for the day for a maximum of $75. Lifters can have multiple sponsors, and after the event is complete, each lifter will let their sponsor know how much to donate. Please submit by July 22nd to hit our goal of $5,000!

The third annual Doggos and Deadlifts Charity Meet will be held on July 8th at SURGE!

This is an unsanctioned deadlift-only meet to benefit Anderson Humane, which, to date, we have raised over $10,000 for them and found permanent homes for animals needing homes!

For over 50 years, Anderson Humane (formerly Anderson Animal Shelter) has been the leading animal welfare organization in the Fox Valley area. Since then, we’ve found homes for more than 85,000 pets, impacted nearly a quarter million people, and have become one of the largest privately funded animal welfare organizations in Illinois. Our community has changed and has grown significantly since our founding. As we plan Anderson’s future, we must anticipate how our community’s animal-related needs will continue to change and we must evolve to meet those challenges.

Built in the 1960s, the shelter was designed to provide short-term care for dogs and cats until they were reclaimed, adopted, or euthanized. Now, as a limited admission shelter with a nearly six-fold increase in adoptions, more than 350 volunteers, and over 60 full/part-time staff, our current facility is no longer capable of meeting community needs.

Money raised will benefit Anderson Humane Elgin in connection with Heritage Woods Batavia Assisted Living Residents. The initial goal of $3100 will cover animal visitation to Heritage Woods once a month for a year and cover GoFundMe fees. IF we can double the goal, that would double the frequency. Time runs out fast, so let's positively impact someone in their last stage of life!

Those that knew Renee knew that she was the kindest and most loving person that God could offer. She had a particular love for animals and spent most of her years fostering and caring for animals. As she got older, she moved to Heritage Woods. Her health prevented her from being able to have and care for animals. It pained her not to be able to be around animals and we did our best to physically get her to places where she could engage, as mobility was a challenge. Now and then, Heritage Woods was able to bring therapy animals to the facility. Due to cost and lack of access to animals, many older adults who love animals don't get to spend time with them. That is why we are raising money. We are supporting residents at Heritage Woods to have greater access to animals, while supporting a local organization that offers a place of refuge and second chances for thousands of animals. That increase in visitation time is so important, as animals can help with many things. Studies show that positive interactions with a friendly companion animal can help improve health in a wide variety of ways, including:

• decreased anxiety and depression

• reduced stress levels

• lowered blood pressure

• increased social interaction

• improved cardiovascular health

• strengthened immune systems

Lifting will begin at 10 AM at Surge to New Levels in Carol Stream, with friends and family encouraged to stop by! Animals will be available for fostering and adoption on site. Tickets will be $10 at the door, and any further donations are more than welcome! Tacos will also be available for purchase.

 

Our first year was an immense success with us not only hitting our financial goal, but also getting a few animals adopted and fostered as well. We look forward to making this year bigger than ever!
