Ana’s 50th for New Orleans Pride Center

Please join me in celebrating my 50th birthday by making a contribution to the New Orleans Pride Center to fund the day to day operations and ultimately a permanent building for the Pride Center to operate long beyond my next 50 years. As a lifelong New Orleanian, I’ve never spent time in a city with more heart and soul than this one. We know how to have a good time and how to build and rebuild and rebuild again when faced with disaster. For the last two decades, I’ve devoted my time and talent to the LASPCA where we work 24/7/365 to create a more humane community for New Orleans' people and pets. In every part of my life - my MidCity neighbors, my LASPCA team, my animal welfare colleagues, my son and nephew - I have known and loved members of the LGBTQ2IA+ community. In 2023, I joined a talented, passionate and driven group of leaders with the singular mission to open the New Orleans Pride Center when New Orleans’ previous LGBT+ Community Center closed leaving the community without a space to come together, share resources, connect and support the community.

As I celebrate my 50th birthday, I count myself as someone to whom much has been given: family and friends who have supported me, make me laugh and I love profoundly, the opportunity to have built a career at the LASPCA focused on a mission that touches so many lives, have had all the comforts of a home, a car, pets and good health and the unique experience of living in a one-of-a-kind city.
