What is this for?

This GoFundMe was started by Anacortes PTSA on behalf of the Anacortes High School leadership class. It was made for the purpose of installing an Alma Mater mural in our gymnasium. The AHS art club has graciously designed this mural (pictured above, however, is not fully shown) which the students intend to put on the northern wall.

Purpose?

By installing this mural, students hope to bring back more spirit and a sense of community to our school. The old gym featured the alma mater, and students are hoping they can raise the money to bring back the tradition we once had.

Why does it cost so much money?

Students are in the process of collecting bids. The entire cost of our mural is still TBD, however with vinyl and having it professionally installed it may cost a significant amount of money. This will be a permanent, high-quality, stick-on mural. While the design was created by the AHS Art Club, students elected to have it installed professionally, because the desired location is high enough off the ground making it unsafe for students to paint by hand.

Any money collected exceeding the cost of the mural will go back into the AHS ASB exec account which will be used for improving school culture and student activities.
