Anaconda Tragedy: Rally for the Community

An absolutely inspiring post from the owner of High Tide Casino in Billings, MT has gained such positive traction amongst the many that share in the shock and grief of the tragic shooting that occurred in Anaconda, MT on August 1st. Please share and from the farthest reaches we can join together and assist this community through this horrific situation. Together we unite and ask bar owners across the map to join on August 16th in donating a portion of proceeds to those affected that day.

This is not limited to just this collective act of kindness, anyone and everyone can help at any time by donating. Thank you all for joining together and bringing support when needed most.

“A deep and heartfelt thank you to every single person who took the time to share, react, and comment on High Tide’s latest post. We truly had no idea it would touch so many of you. Your support doesn’t just live online—it ripples out into the real world, reminding us why community matters so much. Every share helps amplify love. Every comment (well most comments, some of you need to take that negative energy elsewhere) reminds us that we aren’t alone in our grief or our hope. This is part of what makes the bar community so special.

Q2 News reached out to me as a result of that post and when I was first approached about doing a segment, my initial reaction was laced with hesitation. I didn’t want it to appear as though we were in any way capitalizing on such an unimaginable tragedy. But the more I sat with it, the more I realized it could serve as something far more meaningful—a platform to incite a call to action.

With that being said, on August 16th, we plan to donate all bar proceeds to the owner of this small bar, his staff, and the families of the victims.

We’re also extending this call to action beyond our own walls—we’re inviting bars across the nation to join us on this day in giving back by donating all or a portion of their sales for that day.

My hope and vision is that even the smallest contributions, when united, can create a powerful ripple of support and remind this grieving community they are not alone.

While no amount of money can undo what has been done, I believe this gesture can spark healing, help the owner recover, honor those lives lost, and reflect the deep sense of solidarity within our industry.

As an industry, we have the chance to come together—not just in name, but in heart—and remind those left behind that their pain is witnessed, their loss is carried with us, and their loved ones will live on in the care we extend.
