Hi dearest people!
I'm doing this now before I chicken out. Let me clarify that I do not yet own an electric razor which is why I'm holding kitchen scissors in the picture. Bear with me here while I tell you why I'm asking for your money.
In ten days (April 27) I will turn 30! BIG WOOP. Whatever really incredible plans I was going to partake in for such an auspicious birthday have been dashed. I hadn't actually made any plans but I would have by now if we were still in a world where hugging wasn't a criminal offence. I'm bitter, you see.
Instead, I'm going to give you the gift of wisdom that comes with age. Here's the nugget: in the past year I learned that being unreasonable is the best frame of mind to inhabit. Why? Because in the context of most cases of the current reality, you are probably being really fucking reasonable. See below.
A week ago I drank four cups of coffee and slept for 8 hours after. Yesterday I drank one cup of coffee and I slept for 3 and a half hours. You'll notice that the first statement begins with an unreasonable action and ends in a reasonable result.
I would like to raise an unreasonable amount of money in an unreasonable amount of time: $3000 in 10 days.
That's $300 a day for 10 days. Not so bad!
My birthday request of you is to contribute whatever moolah you can towards RAVEN Trust, a registered charity that raises legal defence funds to assist Indigenous Peoples who enforce their rights and title to protect their traditional territories.
