An Elected Board of Education for Montclair

Montclair, New Jersey prides itself on being one of the most progressive and politically-engaged towns in America. Yet it is also among a small handful — fewer than 3% of municipalities in the state — where a mayor rather than voters chooses who sits on the local board of education.

Proceeds will cover the projected expenses through the certification of the petition required to trigger a referendum on converting Montclair to an elected board of education, notably legal fees and the technology needed for an legally-compliant online petition.

UPDATE: We succeeded , and ended up using much less money than originally anticipated.
