Amy's journey to recovery and healing

Hi, my name is Mike. I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of my sister, Amy Thompson. Amy has struggled for years with an eating disorder caused by childhood parental abuse and trauma. What has been lacking in her journey toward recovery is that very same support structure she was deprived of as a child which could have provided the love, understanding and spiritual guidance so crucial in every young person's life. Amazingly, Amy has been blessed with an opportunity to be in a program that will allow for the deep healing she needs to truly overcome the eating disorder, all while being poured into with love and truth, allowing her to build a solid foundation on the truths of God. This program is the lifegiving ministry called "Bring Your Brokenness," founded by an incredible woman who has overcome her own struggle with both an eating disorder and a traumatic past through the love and truth of God. And now she is so selflessly pouring hope and love into others, being an incredible beacon of God's light shining into the darkest depths of internalized trauma. Insurance coverage for such programs is tremendously lacking, so having this opportunity to do the necessary healing has been frustratingly difficult to come by. My hope is that we can band together as a community to show her that there is hope, to show her love and support through prayer and words of encouragement. By raising funds to allow Amy to get into this program we can act as the family she needs to give her the opportunity to lay the cornerstone for healing for which she desperately struggles every single day. This healing will, in turn, allow her to do what she so deeply desires which is to be a beacon of God's great love through selflessly helping others.
