Amy’s Forever Fight

Hey everyone, my name is Jess along with my Husband Gareth and our close family and friends.

We have set up this gofundme account for our Amy. Amy is my sister in law, she is the mother to our beautiful nephew’s and partner to Ryan, Gareth’s Brother.

Back in June Amy found a lump on her neck, like all of us didn’t think much of it and called the doctors for a routine examination. She was sent for an CT and PET scan. The results came back and Amy was diagnosed with stage 3 Hodgekins Lymphoma.

‘Amy’s got Cancer’ is a sentence that we still all can’t get our head around. She is 30 years old and now faces the long battle that comes with this diagnosis.

On Sunday 17th December, myself, Gareth, Jack, Char, Ryan, my mum Helen and my brother Jack will be running the 8k Christmas Cracker at Bettshanger, supported by our families and friends of Amy.

We have set up this account as ‘forever fund’ so that Amy, Ryan and their boys can make some really special memories, buy things they need or pay bills.

AMY UPDATES 10.10.23

We know know that the cancer has spread to her right arm pit, right chest, above and below diaphragm, spleen and stomach. Amy had her first round of chemo on 27th September, this has left her with everlasting side effects of fatigue, headaches, blurred vision, lack of sleep and many more. She went for the least intense treatment hoping to resume daily life which has been near impossible on this current treatment.

Amy has had to take time off of work just to cope with daily life and has been told she will most definitely start to loose her hair soon. For those of you that know Amy, her hair is her safety blanket often having it braided and coloured. As you can imagine this is something that as a woman is heartbreaking - we have been looking at the wig option and hair wraps which this fund raiser is helping to support!

The team have been training hard for the run and have been making some impressive times over the last few weeks, we are still waiting for one of us to run the full distance in training COME ON TEAM!
