In just a few weeks, a small group of us—four with a limb difference—will be taking on the challenge of climbing the UK’s three national peaks in just three days. That’s a total of 3,408 metres of elevation in 72 hours. While others may join us for individual mountains, five of us will be tackling all three. We're doing it all in support of AmpCamp Kids and their upcoming osteosarcoma camp this November.
Climbing that much is tough for anyone—let alone for those missing a limb—but it's nothing compared to what these incredible families have had to endure. It’s every parent's worst nightmare to hear their child has cancer or to face the heartbreak of a limb amputation.
AmpCamp gives these families something truly special: a week of respite, completely free of charge. It’s a chance for kids to be with others who understand them, for siblings to just be themselves, and for parents to finally relax and enjoy watching their children smile again.
If you’d like to join us for part of a climb—or even just come cheer us on at the start—details and dates are in the post below. The donation link is also included; it’s our Kilimanjaro fundraising page, but all proceeds will go directly to the same AmpCamp.
Please help us by sharing this post and spreading the word. These families deserve the world—and we’re doing everything we can to give it to them.
