The Amity Schoolhouse is a historic structure in Lincoln County, Georgia and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was built around 1903, and was used as a schoolhouse until 1943. It has subsequently been used as a community center, a voting precinct and as a place of worship. It is a beautiful two story, 3000 square foot building with two classrooms on the first floor and an auditorium on the second floor. The roof was replaced in 1994 with metal roofing, and now needs repair due to flashing problems and due to many nails having loosened, leaving a lot of roof leaks. The amount of leakage has caused damage to the ceiling in two places already and needs to be stopped to arrest deterioration of the building. Donations are requested to fund roof repairs. This is vitally important for the survival of the structure. Any donations in excess of the amount to repair the roof will be used to maintain the building.
