Help Jana Wilder Rebuild After Catastrophic Loss

One of our own has faced a devastating tragedy. Jana Wilder, a single mother and proud islander, has lost everything in a house fire directly caused by the flooding her home took on. Jana, the loving mom of two of the sweetest boys, Silas and Abel, is part of our AMI family. While this past week has been tough for nearly all of us, let’s keep standing AMI Strong and come together to help lift this family back on their feet.

Jana has been adapting to a new “normal,” balancing two jobs on the island while raising her boys and doing whatever it takes to provide for them. But both of her jobs have been severely impacted by the storm and remain closed until further notice. And now, after losing her home in a fire, she’s facing unimaginable hardship.

But if you know Jana, you know she’s a force. She showed up at our home tonight with her momma bear game face on, determined to keep going for her boys. Her strength is awe-inspiring, but even the strongest among us need a village. Jana—our very own Captain Jana—needs us now more than ever, even if her beloved pink boat went down with the house.

We’ve pulled together some clothes for Silas and Abel, and we’re working on a wardrobe for Jana. But suitable housing, furniture, and all the unexpected expenses of rebuilding are weighing heavily on her.

Everything counts. Every bit of support helps as we work to rebuild and help Jana and her boys get back on their feet.
