Hi, my name is Amelie! I’m 15 years old and have been part of Girlguiding since I was 7, when I first joined as a Brownie. Over the years, Girlguiding has become a huge part of my life. I’m now a Ranger and volunteer as a Young Leader, helping both at Rainbows and supporting my old Guides unit every week. I began helping at Rainbows when I was 11 and my commitment led to my receiving a local civic award from the Mayor. Girlguiding has given me so many amazing opportunities—from camps and trips to adventures with the friends I’ve made along the way.
I now have the incredible opportunity to take part in a once-in-a-lifetime Girlguiding trip to India in 2027. For the first week, I’ll be staying at Sangam, the World Centre of Girlguiding in India, where I’ll undertake a leadership course and then take part in meaningful community work in local schools or creches. After that, we’ll travel around India’s famous Golden Triangle—visiting Delhi (the capital), Agra (home of the Taj Mahal), and Jaipur (the “Pink City”).
The total cost of this amazing experience is £4,000, and over the next two years I’ll be working hard to raise the funds. This trip means so much to me—not only as a chance to represent Girlguiding internationally, but also to develop my leadership skills, give back through volunteering, and make memories I’ll carry with me forever.
Any support, big or small, will bring me one step closer to this unforgettable adventure.
Thank you so much for your generosity and for taking the time to read my story!
